Between us we have worked for the BBC, ITV, Channel Four, BAFTA, Macmillan Publishers, The Guardian and numerous independent production companies. Working in industry we've made films, documentaries and animations; commissioned and written websites; set up projects involving hundreds of participants; industry games and media awards and been part of a team delivering media campaign academies across Africa.
But the work we're most proud of is the work which has made a difference to young people in their community, their schools, youth centres and their families including state and private secondary and primary schools in Hackney, Somerset and Dorset.
We have run creative projects, whole school productions and web-based projects for 800 young people, led skills-based workshops to give children and young people the tools they need to create their own films and animations, provided career opportunities and contacts for those who want to work in media and most recently taken a therapeutic approach to the use of media techniques and animation to support the delivery of one to one work with children struggling with their mental and emotional wellbeing.
We have witnessed the power of creative media projects to touch, to change and to transform lives and communities. By giving young people the skills to creatively express themselves and their ideas from a young age we are giving them tools for life – increased confidence, improved communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively, pride, sometimes a lifelong interest or even a career and always memories.
We are professional, skilled and passionate about what we do and by coming together to create SilvaKing CIC we believe we can do even more.
